DIPLE – Intermediate Diploma of Portuguese as a Foreign Language

The DIPLE exam certifies B2-level proficiency in Portuguese according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

At this level, speakers achieve greater independence and flexibility in everyday, professional, and educational settings, handling both predictable and less predictable situations.

They can recognize and use common idioms, adjust their register (formal/informal), and apply sociocultural norms effectively.

This level allows candidates to work in Portuguese-speaking environments and take academic courses, though they may still face challenges in highly complex contexts.

A school version of the exam is available for candidates aged 12-15, with age-appropriate tasks.

The DIPLE certifies an intermediate level of Portuguese, allowing candidates to work, study, and interact effectively in diverse situations, though challenges may remain in complex professional and academic environments.
